Phones ‘N Things has been providing business and residential
solutions for the St. Paul / Minneapolis area since 1984. If you’re looking for a phone system - purchasing a new or
used phone - in need of a service call - phone repair or part - you’ve come to the right place! Phones ‘N Things
carries an extensive inventory of telephones from the past to the present including single, multi-line, and cordless telephones
for your home or office!
When AT&T deregulated the phone industry in 1984, owner Max
Ratner, opened his first store on Rice Street in St. Paul, Minneapolis. In the late 80’s and early 90’s,
three more stores were opened: Grand Avenue, Lexington & Larpenteur and Lake & Hennepin. By 2000, they were
consolidated into one location at Rice Street & Hwy 694. Highway construction in August ’06 necessitated another
move to his present location at 1897 Rice St. He continues to offer a unique buying experience in person and over the
Internet, serving both business and residential customers. Max’s attention to detail and his personal fascination
with telephones, particularly “old phones” has allowed his passion to stay alive for over 23 years! From
installing multi lined telephone systems for both large and small businesses, to restoring old relics like wooden wall crankers
or cleaning touch pads on push button phones, Max has done it all!

THE TEAM:
Max and his team specialize in finding the best applications for their customers’ individual telecommunication needs. Whether it’s for a business or home, customer service is top priority. Full demonstrations of product use and warrantees are included; “above and beyond” most retailers or service departments.
John Meacham is the company’s Project Engineer
and Senior Technician. He is very knowledgeable, talented and his perfection is legendary. John has over 20 years
of experience in telecommunications, certified in several phone systems including Intertel, Nortel and NEC; expert in
design and installation of overhead paging systems-Valcom certified.
Leeanne Barr, with over 15 years of experience
in retail at major department stores, handles all publications, merchandising and buyer for the gift department.

Retro is back, yet Max has been selling and collecting retro phones for years. These phones were designed to last! Remember the Princess phones of the 60s? How about the old finger wheels? An extensive library of vintage parts allows him to handle most repairs. If he doesn’t have it, he’ll find it - recently as far away as Norway!
